Challenge
Following a serious classroom security incident, administrators at a private university recognized gaps in their university access control strategy. Solution
The university implemented an IP video intercom and card-based entry system across key buildings, keeping entrances locked while allowing authorized access via assigned credentials. Staff could visually verify visitors on interior master stations before granting entry, strengthening overall campus entry security.

Emergency call stations with highly visible towers were installed in parking areas and open spaces. Students and faculty gained a direct line to campus security, ensuring rapid response even in remote areas of the university.

Challenge
The university campus spanned hundreds of acres, with students and staff regularly moving between buildings, dorms, parking areas, and open walkways. Many of these areas were lightly staffed, especially at night, raising concerns about overall university security and how quickly help could be reached during an emergency. Traditional indoor security systems provided little support once people stepped outside academic buildings.
Solution
IP-based emergency towers were installed in key outdoor areas to provide clearly visible safety points across campus. With one button press, users were connected directly to campus police, enabling real-time voice communication during emergencies. Built-in audio and video helped dispatchers better assess each situation.

Bright lighting made the towers easy to locate at night. Extending communication into open spaces strengthened campus safety and gave students and staff more confidence moving around.
